Agent Orange is the code name for a highly toxic weed killer, a chemical sprayed or dusted on plants to cause its leaves to fall off. Agent Orange is contaminated with TCDD which can potentially cause indirect DNA damage through induction or activation of other DNA damaging compounds in the body. Agent Orange was used by the U.S. military in its herbicidal warfare program during the Vietnam War.

According to Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 4.8 million Vietnamese people were exposed to Agent Orange, resulting in 400,000 deaths and disabilities, and 500,000 children born with birth defects.

From 1961 to 1971, Agent Orange was by far the most widely used of the so-called “Rainbow Herbicides” employed in the herbicidal warfare program. During the production of Agent Orange (as well as Agents Purple, Pink, and Green) dioxins were produced as a contaminant, which have caused numerous health problems for the millions of people who have been exposed. Agents Blue and White were part of the same program but did not contain dioxins.

It focuses on the idea that the U.S military feel great remorse for the effects that they caused the people of Vietnam to face. The poem talks about how the Americans could never imagine the damage and pain they caused for the generations to follow. Agent Orange was a highly toxic “poison” that was released. Even now, there are people in the world that are suffering from the effects of Agent Orange. An example would be deformities and handicaps.

Extra information!

Hi, I’m a Canadian Agent Orange researcher.
I’ve been researching this since 2005, when I found out that Agent Orange was massively field-tested in my home town of Canadian Forces Base Gagetown, New Brunswick Canada 1956-1964. This has caused thousands of deaths here and the Canadian government has been covering this up for decades.

A couple of things you may not know: the military designations for the components of Agent Orange were LNA (2,4-D) & LNB (2,4,5-T). The combination of the two was LNX (Agent Orange). These are chemical warfare weapon designations.

Agent White contained 2,4-D which does indeed harbour dioxins. Not 2,3,7,8-TCDD (as far as I know) but other types.

Hmm.. It’s been quite a long time since I last posted, other than my LA assignment.

Sunday was my birthday. Was kind of screwed. So let’s skip it.

Anyway, my West Zone ‘C’ div basketball competitions are starting soon.

If I’m not wrong, the 1st match will be on the 22nd of March, against Hua Yi.

COME SUPPORT ME @ CLEMENTI SPORTS HALL.

But I don’t know the time. xP

Ok.. So.. Today had training again.

It was A-W-E-S-O-M-E.

My encouragements worked out. :]

Today’s training was damn fun, though it was tiring.

Coach Liu was pleased with our performance.

He say all of us did well & we improved. :]

Why is there racism
Why people commit hate crimes
Why innocent people die
But most of all, I do not understand
Why people discriminate
Because their skin colour, culture, and race are different.

Question: What do you think about prejudice and discrimination? Why do you think it happens?

Response: I think that prejudice cannot be accepted.

Discrimination is actually super common.

For example when you ask a tall person to go take something from a high spot, you are discriminating!

I think it happens because people are self interested and selfish and therefore they will think that their kind is better.

Therefore they discriminate against others.

What do you think is the difference between prejudice and discrimination?

Response: I think that prejudice is more crude than discrimination, and that discrimination is more of like discreet.

However, prejudice is usually done by a large group of people and they do it less discreetly.

Question: Have you read the book “To Kill A Mockingbird”?

Response: Yes.

Question: Can you tell me some examples of prejudice and discrimination in the book?

Response: Ms. Stephanie Crawford was obviously prejudiced against the blacks.

Tom Robinson was being accused wrongly by the Ewells.

That probably showed a sense of discrimination as people took the blacks to be scapegoats and they think that they have a higher social status as compared to them.

Question: As a conclusion, do you think that prejudice and discrimination should continue?

Response: No, I don’t think that prejudice should continue.

But I think discrimination is ok as long as it is just a joke and not too serious.

Hi people!

It’s me again~! Obviously. xP

Ok, so tomorrow is Cross Country, but, I’m still sick. D:

There will be trophies as I will be taking part in the competitive one.

Sigh. I can’t get 1st for sure.. I may be able to get 2nd, but because of my current condition..

I think I’m only aiming to get 3rd. Sigh. Hope the other 5 representing my class can perform well too!

Seriously hope I can run well tomorrow. Especially when there are trophies. xP

If there are no trophies I’ll most likely slack. Haha. :X

Well, another thing is that I have already missed the two basketball trainings I was supposed to go to, both today and yesterday.

Trust me! I really want to go! But even if I go, I can’t train.. So what’s the point? Might as well study for my History test.

Yeah, this reminds me. Had my History and Chinese tests today.

History shouldn’t be a problem, compared to last year since I studied.

But Chinese.. Sigh. Hope I can do well larh. Didn’t have enough time to complete the last section. Argh.

Now I realise how good my last year Chinese teacher is to give us so many chances for our class tests but yet I didn’t cherish them.

Oh yeah! For my 1st Maths test, I got 35/40!

I surprised myself.

What a sad life.. Sigh.

I GOT A NEW MACBOOK!

Well, it was SUPPOSED to be a Macbook PRO.

But due to some problems with it, all of it was taken back by Apple for repair, and will only be available next month.

I couldn’t wait any longer + I have lots of projects coming up so I decided to just get it. :]

So.. Guess what?

I’m SICK!

PATHETIC ME!

I feel so exhausted though I already had plenty of sleep.

& For some reason I just DO NOT UNDERSTAND why is it that whenever I’m sick, I will have all the illnesses one shot. D:

My sore throat is hurting me like heaven and hell and earth and cats and dogs! T_T

& I’m coughing none stop..

& I’m stuffing tissues up my runny nose..

& Getting tired from the dumb fever..

& Cracking my head because the headache is really cracking my head.. D:

So in the end changed it to tomorrow night, after my training.

Headed home, slacked, used msn, did homework, sleep.

Today, woke up again, for tuition.

Hey everybody~!

I know you miss seeing my PINK font!

It’s an addiction! xP

Alright, so I shall get on with talking about my life. BORING! INTERESTING!

Saturday:

In the morning, had tuition again. Till 12pm, then headed to G’s house, while waiting for our match at 4pm.

I had a GREAT welcome by his GOLDEN RETRIEVER(omg i want it D:), COKE! :]

The moment I went in he came to me and licked me LOL.

He was like standing and his paws were placed on my chest. So heavy! My chest hurt! D:

Haha! But he’s cute. :]

So ate Subway that was bought earlier, and T came.

T has no manners larh. G’s parents sitting there then he just ignore and talk to us.

What the hell?! No basic courtesy. FAIL!

Gave him my Subway cookies and went to G’s room.

Played Chinese Chess with him and I LITERALLY OWNED HIM.

Too easy~! xP

Haha! So we chatted and played a bit of games, then headed to the MRT.

The 2 of them bought BubbleTea inside OUTSIDE the station while waiting for SC to arrive.

The moment they bought it, SC came. HAHA! They chiong-ed finish the drink and got a BRAINFREEEEEEEZEEEEEEEEEE! LOL!

Took MRT to C interchange, then waited for a few juniors to arrive before taking bus to the school.

Warmup-ed, stretched, changed, and played the match.

We lost by 4 points! D:

But still ok larh, since we improved alot. We actually lost to them by more than 20 points during the December holidays.

IMPROVEMENT!

I’m proud of myself! Haha! :]

Ate with them, then went to Jack’s Place to eat with my family again, and went to IMM’s Giant to get some Chinese New Year stuff.

Headed home, BOOMZ & I’m asleep. xP

Sunday:

ANOTHER TUITION.

Annoying right? “Yes.” Yeah I think so too. :]

After tuition went to Lot 1.

Reason? SHINee in Singapore.

Wasn’t really a nice experience.

Honestly it’s the 1st fansign I have been to, and I think it wasn’t meant to be so disorganised and messy.

Didn’t even get a glance of SHINee.

Went home pissed and did homework and stuff..

TODAY!

School again. Annoying right? “Yes” ERM OF COURSE NOT!

Haha! 1st lesson was History.

Nothing much to talk about, watched videos and discussed..

2nd lesson: THINKING!

It seriously rocks larh. Politics is cool.

Discussed about politics and stuff..

Next, RECESS!

Went down to eat at the canteen with J, Q and H.

Chatted about random stuff :]

Went back up for Maths lesson.

Did Maths, practiced, and had our normal lesson.

Last lesson is.. LANGUAGE ARTSSSSSS!

Had alot of fun during LA. ^^

Dismissed, and ate again with C & S.

Initially didn’t want to go train, anyway I can’t because of my injured ankle.

But I saw the rest of the team shooting balls there and I felt guilty, so decided to go. >.<

BUT! They were actually planning to skip training. =.=”

BUT! Hardworking Kevin persuaded them to go back to train. :]

Haha! I didn’t get to train and play with them because of my ankle..

Therefore I had to help C teach the new Sec 1s that came for the trial.. BORING!

After training, came back home, bathed, ate dinner, watched Life Transformers again.

Saddening.. D:
